Maybe I'm way left-field here but I see no reason why I (or any author) should be obliged to explain our personal lives to readers. In this case though I will!
At the time of this story (early seventies) I was married to the young lady in question and we had just the one daughter. She took her own life many years later regrettably. I am sorry if this seems to conflict with the facts within my stories.
For your information I remarried in the early eighties and have now as I mentioned, four kids, three girls and one boy who IS in fact, the eldest.
Next time I suggest you don't jump to conclusions and start taking dictatorial attitudes. |

Well thank you for those kind words - I am assuming you are female! Just to let you know that another remembrance entitled "In Times Past" WILL be published on XNXX September 23rd or 24th. It is a companion piece in many ways to this story.
Watch out also for "When What To My Wondering Eyes Should Appear? a day or so later. Anyone who enjoyed "Once upon a Childhood" will appreciate this tale. |

For me, the story was a lesson on how to write decently. Loved the ending as well, it was fully appropriate I thought. |
