I really wanted to illustrate the main character's escalating depravity and highlight his initial struggle against his own conscience; it's what passes for character development in a piece of literature that has no redeeming social value otherwise, haha. ;) It couldn't have ended any other way. |

The thing is, I've re-read the story on more than a few occasions, and I keep finding errors or things I'd like to change every time. If anything, I seemed too eager to use certain combinations of words and didn't pay enough attention to sentence flow. The point is, every story written is good practice. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to tighten up my prose to the point where it's both poetic and elegant. :) |
