Ask their daughter to marry you at their forty-year anniversary seemed appropriate. The second decision I made on the spur of the moment was I was tired of driving the car I had. I pulled into the Chevy dealership on the way from the jewelry store. It took less than an hour for me to leave in a brand-new Chevy Suburban Premier which was a little over seventy-seven thousand dollars. It was in Alpine White with saddle colored interior having every option imaginable. It would be great for going to Jennifer’s softball games or just talking everyone out at once.
I pulled up in the driveway at the exact moment Shelby got there after picking Jen up from school. They both got out of the car excited, and I confirmed that I had just bought a new car. Jennifer climbed around in it and declared the entire back seat was hers. Of course, there were two large monitors in the back of the front seats so she could watch television or movies.
The night of the party was here so the four of us went to the banquet room that Shelby’s grandfather had reserved. The party was a great success and I had secured Samantha as my partner in crime for the proposal. After the toast celebrating Ben and Beth’s anniversary Sam called Shelby and Jen up to the front of the floor. She instructed Shelby to face her parents and Jen to stand beside her. She was babbling something about another toast when I made my way around a few guests and walked up behind them. I took a knee in the space between Shelby and Jennifer silently. By now Beth knew what was up and started to cry.
“Shelby and Jen, there’s someone here that wants to ask you the two of you something. Please turn around.”, she instructed.
They both did as they were told and saw me immediately. Since I was down on one knee Shelby immediately knew what was coming but Jennifer was a little confused. I reached out and took Shelby’s left hand and then took Jennifer right hand and looked up at the both of them.
“Shelby and Jen……… Will you marry me?”, I asked.
The room exploded in applause as tears were running down Shelby’s face. Jennifer hugged me quickly and said yes then looked at her mother.
“You better say yes mom.”, Jennifer instructed.
“Oh, it’s a big yes.”, Shelby said, taking my hand as I got up.
Shelby stepped up to me then softly put her lips on mine and kissed me with everything she had. I did not want that kiss to end but since we were in public it had to. By then, everyone had gathered around us as I took the ring box out of my pockets. I handed the box to Shelby which she took with trembling hands. She opened the box and squealed in delight as she saw the ring. I took the ring out of the box and slipped it on Shelby’s left ring finger.
That night in bed Shelby was pressed up against me just staring at her ring. She looked up at me and smiled then softly kissed me quickly.
“Why now……... I was beginning to think you would never ask.”, Shelby replied.
“It’s because of the phone call you received that day in the car on the way home from the grocery. I was not one hundred percent sure that you wanted exactly what I did. But after the way you talked to me that day there was no doubt left in my mind. I know now this is forever.”, I answered.
“Fuck, if that’s all it took, I would have threatened to whip your ass a lot earlier than I did. “, she giggled.
“Maybe you should have.”, I replied.
Months later, Samantha was sitting with us late one evening when she said something that I never thought she would say. She caught me totally by surprise.
“Jace, I so appreciate everything that you have done for me. My life was falling apart and the two of you rescued me. I did a lot of thinking and I told Brian that it’s over and I will file for divorce so he can move on. You don’t know this, but several guys have asked me out since I have lived here. And without hesitation I always say no. I say no because I love the two of you with all my heart. I say no because I love you Jace in a way I’m not supposed to.”, she said softly, tears running down her eyes.
“Sam, please don’t…….”, Shelby said.
“Please sis, let me finish. I cannot in any way ever jeopardize what the two of you have here. So, what you need to know is that I will not leave the two of you voluntarily. Jace, I love you…… I mean really love you. Shelby, no one could ask for a better sister or a better lover. The two of you are my world but I will step aside if that’s what you want. Think about it and let me know.”, she said getting up and walking quickly out of the room.
Shelby just looked at me with a shocked look concerning what her sister had just said. I got up and reached for Shelby’s hand and then led her to our bedroom where I shut the door. I ed Shelby to the bed and we laid down together.
“Shelby, in a way I understand what Samantha just said. I love Sam too and I’m in love with her as well. But it’s not the same love I have for you. So, if Sam feeling that way gives you any cause for concern, we can let her go find her own way. That’s not what I want but I want whatever is best for you. I have no problem with Sam staying here if that’s what she wants if you’re comfortable.”, I whispered in her ear.
“Jace, she surprised me when she said she was in love with you. I mean, I know she loves you but in love is different. But how many times have I seen you and Sam in bed pleasing each other. And not once did I ever experience any jealously.”, she started.
“Then when the three of us are together in bed it’s even better. I don’t want her to leave either. We need to talk to her and tell her how we both feel.”, Shelby suggested.
“We can do that tomorrow night since Jennifer is going to your parents to sleep over.”, I stated.
“Sounds good.”, Shelby replied.
We dropped off Jennifer at Shelby’s parents the next evening and stopped into a small restaurant to have dinner. There was a football game on and the place was loaded with men. As soon as we walked in Shelby and Sam were instant celebrities. Not that I blame any man in there for looking. Both had developed incredible bodies and both were in compression gear that night. I went to the bar to order a pitcher of iced tea since the waitress were busy with all the customers. I finally got up to the bar and ordered when a man on the stool to my right spoke up.
“I have to give it to you man; you have some gorgeous dates. Please tell me they are your sisters.”, he laughed.
“Sorry, the blonde is my fiancé and the dark hair one is her sister.”, I replied.
“Just my luck brother.”, he said, turning back to the bar.
We had chicken wings and fries and left about eight o’clock that night. We drove straight home and everyone took their showers in preparation to watch a movie in the theatre room which was the cover story. Shelby and I were in bed when Sam walked in the room looking for us. Sam looked good in a tank top and small shorts that were two sizes too small.
“Sam, close the door and come here.”, Shelby instructed.
“What, we are going to fuck first?”, Sam asked.
“Sam, please come here.”, Shelby ordered.
Sam shrugged her shoulder and closed the door locking it like we had done so many times before. When Jennifer was here, we had to be extremely quiet which was hard for Shelby and Sam. But since Jennifer was at Shelby’s parents, we had the house to ourselves. Sam sat down in between us confused as to what was happening. It was determined by Shelby that I would talk to her first.
“Sis, we have talked about what you said a week or so ago. We wanted to talk to you and be truthful with you because of how we feel about you. Sam, I love you probably in a way I shouldn’t either. You are an incredible woman and I can’t imagine not having you around. But I must tell you that I love Shelby in a different way. I love you so much, but I am in love with Shelby if you can understand that. I want you to stay here forever if that is possible. But I would never do anything to hurt Shelby.”, I stated.
“Sam, you’re the absolute best sister a girl could ever have. I love you so much that sometimes it hurts to see you sad. What you said that night threw me for a loop. But after I talked to Jace I began to understand. Sam, I have seen the two of you fucking each other so many times and not once have I ever felt jealous. I want you to stay as well knowing how we both feel if that’s ok with you.”, Shelby said, rubbing Sam’s thigh.
“So, I will kind of be another wife for the both of you?’, Samantha asked.
“If that’s what you want, Sis.”, Shelby replied.
“So, all three of us can still fuck after the two of you get married. We can keep it just the way it is now?”, she asked.
“That’s fine with the both of us.”, Shelby advised.
“Then I guess you both have another wife.”, Sam giggled.
