Creating a segment overlap exploration in GA4
- Segment explorations in GA4 are useful when you want to see how different parts of your users intersect with each other and look for patterns. I like using these as a nice visual break, especially with decision makers because, frankly, tables can get kind of boring after a while. In this lesson, I'll use Google's Merch Shop GA4, which is available for anyone to use. We're in the Explorations section. Now let's create a new segment overlap exploration. You can find that by clicking the right arrow and then clicking on Segment Overlap, the default segment comparisons that load up our mobile traffic, tablet traffic, and ages 25 to 54, and you can see how those interact in this Venn diagram right here. You can only have a maximum of three segments in your comparison, so if we wanted to add in visitors from the US, we need to remove a segment.
