Sprint planning: Part 1

- [Instructor] Each sprint begins with an event called sprint planning. This event is timeboxed to eight hours for a 30-day sprint. The time box can be reduced proportionally for shorter sprints. Most experienced scrum teams schedule no more than two hours for this event. The eight-hour limit is the upper limit and there is no lower time limit on sprint planning or any other scrum event. The sprint planning is broken into two parts. In the first part, the scrum team defines what they're going to build in the sprint and what is known as the sprint goal. In the second part, the team defines how they will build the product increment. The entire scrum team is required to attend this event. Our product owner, Bob, has been working with the business stakeholders, development team, the scrum master, CIO, and other stakeholders to figure out how to maximize business value of the work that needs to be done in the current sprint.…
