- [Instructor] A common myth about scrum is that it does not allow specialization. There is nothing stated in the scrum guide that disallows or discourages specialization. When it comes to skills, you can be an I-shaped person who has highly specialized skills in one area of knowledge, or you could be a T-shaped person who has in-depth knowledge in a smaller area but also has broad general knowledge in other areas. Knowing more than one skill can make you more effective as a team member regardless of whether you are doing scrum or not. Development team members can split their time among multiple teams or dedicate all their time to one team. If you're working in multiple teams, your productivity will be impacted because as you switch between teams, you undergo what is known as context switching, which can decrease productivity. So if you split your time up between teams too much, your productivity will likely drop.…
