Fixing common audio problems
In video, audio is equally as important for the experience. Take a moment to reflect on one of your favorite scenes from a film. Write down a couple things you love about it. Now go watch it again and pay attention to the sounds in it. While it may not have been initially listed, what role did that audio play in your experience? How you allow the audience to hear sound can make or break that experience. Even worse, capturing good sound can be a challenge. During this shoot, which is being recorded in downtown Toronto, we are faced with having to break because of police sirens outside, the room is a bit echoey, and then there's a buzz in the background from an air conditioner. This could be even worse if we recorded all the sound from the camera mic versus the lavalier that I'm wearing.
