GPTs for feedback

- [Instructor] Another helpful type of GPT you can create is an assistant that offers constructive feedback for your ideas, designs, business plans, and so on. You can tell the GPT to base its feedback on the latest trends in your industry, concepts covered in books by authors you admire, or by thought leaders from any time in history. It's a great way to get input or another set of, in this case, virtual eyes or ears, on your ideas. So for this example, let's build a GPT to provide feedback on logo designs. I'll go to explore GPTs, create, and we'll say, "I'd like to make a GPT that can provide feedback and constructive criticism on logo designs, and also offer to create alternative designs." I'll say keep that name. And sure, we'll keep that image. And now as usual, it's going to ask us questions to refine the GPT. It's asking what should this GPT emphasize or avoid when giving logo feedback or creating alternatives. And again, you can answer the questions as they're provided to you, or if you already kind of know what you want, you can just type it into the prompt field. I'll say, "The GPT should provide feedback on technical aspects of logo design, including color theory and typography. It should also consider whether the logo will be effective across multiple platforms and media, such as social media, print media, and video. And it should offer to provide alternate designs of logos as well." I'll add, "keep it conversational, but technical jargon is fine when necessary." And now that's been updated now for this assistant, the GPT will pull from the vast amount of design knowledge that Chat GPT has been trained on, but we can be a little more deliberate with our instructions. if I want to make sure the feedback is from a contemporary and informed place, I'll write something like, "offer critiques and suggestions that are both contemporary and informed. Reference current design trends, utilize insights from design blogs, social media, and recent publications. And be aware of advancements in design tools and software." All right, now that it's been updated, let's go to the configure tab. And again, we can check out the name, description, and instructions. But here I'm going to scroll all the way down under capabilities, and we must definitely want to make sure that web Search and DALL-E are enabled so the GPT can pull from the latest information as well as generate alternative logos for us. All right, let's try this out. I've got a logo on my desktop, so let's see what our GPT thinks about it. I'll click upload from computer. There's my logo as you can see there. And again, without any prompts, I'm just going to upload the image. And because this is a custom GPT with a set of instructions, it already knows what to do and it's offering me a breakdown of what works well and where there's room for refinement. And you can see it's quite thorough here. It's giving me a list of its strengths and here are some suggestions for improvement. I can tell that there's a wing design in there, there's a star at the center. And it gives me some other optional iterations that I might want to explore. Now I can ask it questions, maybe something like, "How is it in terms of scalability?" And it gives me its assessment telling me things like the fine lines of the spokes may become invisible or clutter when the logo is shrunk. At smaller scales the feathered wings might blur or appear as indistinct shapes and so on. And maybe I want to utilize its ability to generate an alternative for me. I'll say, "Generate an alternative logo for me that meets scalability requirements." And there it is. Now, as I mentioned before, we're kind of in a transition period with image generation in Chat GPT. You can see that it's made with the old version of image generation. And DALL-E doesn't do great with text creation yet. So you can see we kind of have some weird spacing here, but text and image generation will be improving very soon. And by the time you're watching this, you may be using the new image generator in Chat GPT. But in almost all cases, we wouldn't want to grab and use the logos that generates on their own, but instead we could use them as the basis or inspiration for a new design. So I'm pretty happy with this. We'll click create. Save this for myself, bearing in mind that we can share this with anyone who we want to share the link with. Or if we feel like this GPT could be useful to other people, you can upload it to the GPT Store. In this case, we'll just save it for Only Me. And there's our new custom Logo Critique Studio GPT. And again, this is just one example of the type of GPT you can create that can provide feedback and constructive criticism. And I'm sure you can come up with plenty of others that would come in handy for your own work and projects. Anytime you need an honest critique of your work.
