- [Instructor] To get started installing a debian system I'll visit debian.org and find the downloads area. That's over here on the right. I'll click the download button and then I'll click the download link. And in my case, the download begins automatically. If it doesn't work for you, you can click the link provided. I'll save this file. The installer that we've downloaded is a minimal installer, a smaller download, which pulls in everything it needs over the network during the installation. So if you have an internet connection available while you install, it's a good choice. If you need a full installer, one that works offline, you can find the alternate downloads area and download an appropriate installation image. When the download finishes, I'll switch over to a virtual box and create a new virtual machine. I'll click the blue new button and I'll give my machine a name.
