- In the previous courses, we've covered various types of systems and platforms and other products that can be used together with an AI system to either expand it into a greater AI solution, or they may exist as external systems and platforms that the AI solution accesses or integrates with. It's important to acknowledge that pretty much any of these systems and platforms can be deployed in a cloud just as much as they can exist in an on-premises environment. But there's a difference between products that can be installed on a server in a cloud and those that are specifically designed for these environments. This brings us to how we use the terms cloud-native and cloud-based. Both of these terms are not used consistently within the IT industry, but in this course, the term cloud-based is an umbrella term that refers to something that resides in the cloud.
