This is a first in a series of movies about how we're going to customize views and libraries in SharePoint and in Microsoft Teams, and for me, a compelling reason to know more about SharePoint from a Teams perspective is that there is so much you can do to customize what you see in Teams by modifying what's displayed in SharePoint. We'll start by talking about the relationship between a library and its views. Whenever we create a new SharePoint team site, we get a document library called Documents, and we might create this team site by creating a new private channel in Teams, by creating a new team in Teams, by creating a site in SharePoint, doesn't matter. We get a library. It has about a dozen columns. Here are some of them listed. And then there's a default view created. And if we started in SharePoint, we'd probably see it first in SharePoint, and this view is called all Documents. It has three columns Name, Modified by and Modified.
