- [Instructor] Access control is always at the heart of an information security program, and especially around cybersecurity. Earlier you learned about security principles through the foundations of risk management, governance, incident response, business continuity, disaster recovery, but at the end security all comes down to make sure that whoever needs to get access to specific resources, whether there's systems, data, buildings, facilities, they have access, and those that should not have access, that, of course, they're not allowed to gain access to those resources. However, access controls are not just about restricting access to information systems and data, but also about allowing access and about granting the appropriate level of access to authorized personnel and processes, and then denying access to those that should not, of course, have access.
