- Let's talk about backing up data in Linux. First of all, you may want to work with backup devices. So you may want to use a dedicated backup drive or perhaps backup devices like linear tape open, tape drives, or maybe network attached storage. And if you take a look here, you'll see some images. We have a tape drive here and a large tape. This looks like an LTO or linear tape open. Above it, you can see a bunch of drives. This looks like a RAID array of some sort on a server, but if you need to back up data, you're normally going to be backing up a lot of data. So backing up to tape makes sense. And these can often handle terabytes of data, even more. You also have down here network attached storage, which is another good solution, but this is more for smaller businesses, maybe mid-sized businesses. And so network attached storage like this.
