- [Instructor] On this worksheet, our salaries worksheet in the chapter one file, we've got some problems with the data in column A. We've got irregular spacing. And what we'll need to do is to use a function here called trim, which is really handy at times. Leading spaces are a big problem when we sort data, trailing spaces and we can't see them obviously here. Those are going to be problems if we're trying to match up data from different locations. Let's clean this up by putting in a new column, first of all, as I right click column B, and insert, and we'll use a function called trim. Now, trim actually does three things. It eliminates leading spaces and trailing spaces, and when there are multiple consecutive inner spaces as we see in row five, they get reduced to a single space. So making the entry here, I'll press control enter to complete the formula, and keep the active cell in place. And then double click that fill…
