- [Instructor] Let's look at XLOOKUP. It's relatively new and it was designed to be a more robust version of VLOOKUP . I'm going to show you why. But here are a couple of things. One, I go much deeper into XLOOKUP and even do a comparison of XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and INDEX MATCH in my course called Excel: Advanced Formulas and Functions. So please check that out. Also, XLOOKUP is only available on Excel 2021, if you have the standalone version, or Microsoft 365. It is on both PC and Mac, and Excel online, right? So if you've got older versions of Excel, you won't have XLOOKUP. All right, XLOOKUP. Here we have Names and States. We want to get the Region and the State Bird. Go to the main list. Here we go. State Bird, State, Census Region, Abbreviation. All right, now notice over here, we want to use, for example, Hawaii to pull the Region and the State Bird.
