- [Instructor] You've seen how help forums and documentation are central to how people in the web development world stay in touch with each other. A real community forms in some of them but in many, those connections are fleeting. Someone asks a question, it gets discussed and everybody moves on. The people who ask questions get short term value, but the people who answer them get long-term value. They get to know each other as experts. Take a look at this page on Stack Exchange from the previous video. Stack Exchange gamifies the discussion boards by letting people up-vote answers and give awards. These are reflected in the recipient's user account. For example, I'm going to scroll down to the top answer here and see who gave it. Yep, Roderick Obrist.
