Create and share collections

- [Instructor] A great way to curate and recommend content on the platform is by creating collections. A collection is a curated list of videos, courses, custom content and more that usually revolves around a specific topic or career track. Learners can then access the resources and consume the content in any order as needed. Let's take a look at where you can access collections that you've already created. In order to do this from my admin dashboard, I'm going to go up to the top to content and then library. This brings me to my library here, and I can see that there are collections inside of here already. Here's one on Microsoft Excel. I'm going to open this up and you can see that it is a collection of videos, courses, and resources to help out with using Microsoft Excel. Over on the right, it tells me that anyone can find it. It's an hour and 25 minutes of content, 13 items, and in English. Down below I can see those items and they are just a collection of resources that someone who's using Excel could use if they needed to figure out how to filter data or protect worksheets and workbooks and so on. So this is one collection. Now I'm going to back out of here and I can see that I have another one in here for remote workers. So this is content just to help remote workers. This is a great way to be able to curate content together under a topic and then share it with people that would be most interested in it. Now let's take a look at how to add a new collection. I'm going to go up to the top and click on add and then create collection. From here, we can decide if we want to create a new one or copy an existing one. I'm going to create a new one and it brings up this box in which we need to start entering in information. So I'm going to start typing the title in here. And this is AI Skills to Increase Productivity. Down below I'm going to paste in a description that I already had here. Check out these resources to help you develop your AI skills, learn more about AI, et cetera. Then we have to decide who can discover it. In this case, I'll put everyone. We can add skills, and they are suggesting some here. So they will get some AI skills here. Productivity improvement, I'll add those two skills. Now below this we can put the content language who it's added by, and this can either be a colleague at Enigma or the company Enigma. In this case, I'll say a colleague at Enigma. And then we can add tags, making it easier to find later. So here I'm going to put a tag of AI and I'll add this new tag. And you can see that tag appears down there. I'm also going to add productivity and add that as a new tag. Now, if it had already existed, I'd be able to select it from that list. Now at the bottom, I'm going to go ahead and click create and have now created this collection. It's called AI Skills to Increase Productivity. Now, the only problem is there's nothing in here. So in order to add content, I can go here to add content, search for content, and then I can search for content. I'm going to put in here artificial intelligence. We'll take a look at what comes up. Okay, so we have several different things here. These are some courses as well as videos. Now I want this course right here, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence by Doug Rose. So I want to add that. I'll click add. And you can see that item added down here inside of the collection to the left. Now, another cool thing about this is that you don't just have to add full courses. We can go over here and search for courses, videos and so on. So let's say there's a situation where you want to share a course, but not everything that's in that course. So for example, here I have courses selected. I can see them over here. I'm going to take one of these courses and click on course contents below that to open it up. And when I do, then I can see all of the chapters that are in this course. And here I have the ability to add these chapters into my collection. So let's say I wanted Understanding Machine Learning to be in there, I could add that chapter. It will now be added. Implementing a Machine Learning Solution, let's say I wanted to add that chapter. I can even go as far as to show the videos that are within a chapter. So here I'll show this, and these are the different videos in that chapter. Maybe I just wanted to include a couple of these videos. So I'll include this one and this one. And when I'm done in the bottom corner, I'm going to click done. Now they have been added here. I'm going to scroll up to the top and click on save and publish. Now, when I do this, it's going to ask me who I want to share this out with, so you can recommend it to learners. Here in the box, I could type in the name of a learner or group and select them. In this case though, I want this to go to all learners. You can also share it out by a link or share it on Teams. When I'm ready, I'll go next, and then I can decide an action. So is this recommending this collection or assigning it? In this case, I'm just recommending it. You can decide who the recommender is. I'm going to go with the company Enigma. You can choose learners in specific groups. Again, we didn't want to do that. And then at the bottom you can leave a note telling them why you're recommending this. Now, I could go ahead and paste this thing I had in there as a description for it. Again, just telling them to check out these resources that are about AI skills. Now when I'm done, I'll click recommend, and that has been recommended and this collection has now been added to my library. So if I navigate here, back to my library and refresh this, we will see that AI skills to increase productivity collections that I just created. Over to the right, I can share that by recommending it, sharing via link or Teams, and I can go to more to duplicate it, edit it, or delete it. Now, one final thing I want to point out is that we just took a look at how to create this collection, but now it's created and we can add to it at any time. So for instance, if I'm up here and I'm looking for artificial intelligence content and I come across a course that I'm interested in adding, or here's a video, What is Artificial Intelligence? I can go to the right and click add to or go into this and add it. When I do, it's going to bring up this box that asks us where we want to add it. And in this case, it's in the collection, I already created AI Skills to Increase Productivity. I can go ahead and click add, and it will then add that to the course. So those are collections. I strongly recommend that you take the time to create some well thought out collections and share them with relevant learners. It's a powerful way to provide resources and learning opportunities for your team and organization.
