How can I name and organize layers in After Effects?
- Let's explore some tactics for organizing things. Remember, an organized project, as well as an organized composition is much easier to animate. You can continue working with the previous project if you'd like. Let's go to the looped scene layer here for a moment. And you'll see there's a handful of things at play. Several things came in already well, named because we did so in Photoshop. I've got looped plus the tagline, but maybe I'd like that tagline to be the actual tagline in case there's variations. If I press the return key, it goes to edit mode, and I can now type in the new tagline. When I press return, it's applied. Notice it says layer name here. If you click, you could toggle between the source name, which shows me the name of the layer, and the Photoshop file it comes from, or click again, and the layer name. We also have a nested pre-comp here. We're going to talk more about that…
