What you'll learn in this course
- Hello, and welcome to this course on how do I do that in Premier Pro. My name is Rich Harrington, and we're going to explore several different techniques that are perfect for all levels of users with Premier Pro. This course is a bit unique, in that each chapter is really organized around a particular topic. And as such, you're pretty much free to jump around to just the things you need. Occasionally, you will find that some of the sections build upon each other, meaning that a few movies in a row may have related skills, but in general, you're fine to jump to just what you're most interested in or that you need to get better at Premier Pro. To kick things off, we're going to start out by taking a look at how do you import media into a project, and some strategies for bringing in files so that they're ready to use. We'll then explore how to set up sequences, as well as shortcuts for creating template sequences for easy reuse. We'll then explore some of the most essential skills needed when working with audio files both in your timeline and in the bin. We'll then explore the versatile world of key frames. Premier is actually a pretty capable animation tool, and while I generally use After Effects you'll be surprised at how much can be done right inside of Premier Pro. We'll, then explore some of the most essential visual effects that you'll need to use as a video editor or within the video editing timeline. We'll then take a look at one of my absolute favorite topics, which is color grading. How to give a shot, a particular style or visual feeling. Then we'll explore the incredible integration between Premier Pro and After Effects with technologies like dynamic link that allow you to easily share project files, and assets between these two programs. We'll then take a look at trimming, which is one of the most important techniques that an editor can use. This you to precisely trim or add in a few frames to get just the perfect shot or to reposition the content of a shot so that it better fits with dialogue or music. We'll then take a look at the versatile world of titling that you can do with Premier with the capable motion graphics templates, as well as text engine and captions. And we'll get you ready for final export and rendering, so you know how to get files out of Premier, and ready to share with others. This course has a lot to it. So again, jump to the section you need the most. My name is Rich Harrington, and I've brought a lot of different skills to this course. I make my living as both a director, and a photographer but I've also been heavily involved with Premier Pro through the years, including being co-author of the official "Adobe Premier Pro Classroom in a Book." And helping Adobe put together their certification program for all of its instructors. I really know Premier, and I love what this program can do. And I'm looking forward to sharing it with you. Let's get started.
