How to handle repeating conflicts
- Some conflicts will seem to happen again and again no matter how many times we solve them, and how great we feel our solutions were. When that happens there are five simple strategies that we can use to try to figure out what's causing the conflict to repeat itself. The first thing we do is to make sure we've thoroughly explored whether there are any underlying factors that can be causing it. Because if we're upset with each other about something that we're not talking about we'll often experience conflict in areas where there really aren't any. But if that's not the case we have to take a look at our behaviors and our solutions. If it's obvious to both sides which one is not honoring the agreements that we've made it should be up to that person to figure out why, and what can be done to improve.
