- [Instructor] Once you have all of your internal and external data organized, cleansed, and reconfigured into fact and dimension tables in a data warehouse, it's time to actually do something with all of that data. This brings us back to the concept of business intelligence. The purpose of business intelligence is to gain insight by analyzing raw data that can lead to a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The results of a business intelligence analysis are used to support operational decision making by revealing past trends in the market, as well as predicting future outcomes. This allows decision makers within the enterprise to be able to better position the company to take full advantage of shifts in consumer behavior, efficiencies in manufacturing, or right sizing the workforce.
