Leave a FaceTime video message

- For times when you try to place a FaceTime call to someone but they don't answer, you can leave a video message, much like you can leave a voicemail message when calling someone on the phone. So let's say I'm trying to call Clark on FaceTime. So I've already got his name in here. I'll tap the FaceTime button. And we'll try to make the call. But he doesn't answer, and I get this message that Clark is unavailable. Now, we do have the option here to call again, but we also have this Record Video button, so I'll tap that. That gives us this five-second countdown so we can get ready. If we need more time, we can press the pause button, which just gives us a record button now. So when we're actually ready, we can hit the record button and leave a message. Hey Clark, sorry I missed you. Just had a question about the meeting tomorrow. Give me a call back when you can. And we tap the record button again to stop the recording. Now, if we want, we can tap the play button to review the video. I'll just pause that for now. We also have the option here in the lower right to retake the video if we don't like how it turned out. Or if you do like it and maybe you want to keep a copy of it for yourself, you can tap the save button in the upper right-hand corner to save it to your own camera roll. But when you're actually ready to send the message, tap the send button, and off it goes. And just so you can see what this looks like from the receiving end, I received a FaceTime video message earlier from Nick, and you can see it's labeled in red because I missed that call. But there is a video message here which I can tap to view. All right, so there's a message that Nick left. Again, I have a save button if I want to save that to my camera roll. I can tap the FaceTime button to give him a call back, or the message button to send him a text message. So that's how to leave a video message when you can't reach someone over FaceTime.
