- [Narrator] Like other technological advancements that surround us, AI can be both helpful and harmful. It all depends on how we use them. For instance, think of the modern stove. It's an excellent tool for cooking, but if not used properly, it can also be a source of danger, even severe harm and damage. Harm from a stove could happen at the same time a meal is cooked successfully. Let's consider some potential desirable and undesirable outcomes of AI. A desirable outcome is that AI automates repetitive tasks across various industries, including manufacturing, finance, healthcare, customer service. By automating routine tasks, AI frees human workers to focus on more creative and strategic endeavors, increasing productivity and innovation. An undesirable outcome is that automation driven by AI technologies may lead to job displacement and socioeconomic disruptions, particularly for low skilled manufacturing, retail, and transportation workers.
