Challenge: Formulate and test a hypothesis

In this chapter, I have described how to formulate a hypothesis and also given an overview of how to test it. As a reminder, a hypothesis is an educated guess about a relationship between two values in your dataset. The null hypothesis says that factor A has no effect on factor B, and the alternative hypothesis says that, in fact, factor A does affect factor B. The alternative hypothesis can be directional, where you look for less than or greater than, or non-directional, where you're looking for a difference of any kind, up or down, from a particular value.
