- [Instructor] Spreadsheet models let you combine a series of inputs into a coherent picture. Some inputs are numbers such as labor prices while others are costs that might or might not apply. For example, you could choose whether to include a product category in an order. In this movie, I will show you how to turn individual items on and off by using checkboxes. My sample file is 0303 checkboxes and you can find it in the Chapter Three folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this workbook, I have the model that I created earlier but I have made a few changes. Specifically, I have added labels to column G. So I have servers included, desktops, notebooks and tablets. My goal is to use checkboxes to include or exclude each of those categories from this order for this purchase model and multiply the total cost by one or zero based on whether a particular checkbox is selected.
