- [Instructor] Before we dive into our work in Dynamics 365 for sales, we need to understand the concept of records. Records are the backbone of Dynamics 365. So what is a record? A record is just a piece of information about a customer, lead, opportunity, or piece of our business. Think of it like a row in an Excel spreadsheet where each row contains details about an account, contact or sales opportunity. Key record types in the sales process include accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities. Let's explore the types of records in Dynamics 365 for Sales that we use for our accounts and contacts. The homepage of the sales hub has the navigation on the left-hand side, which gives us access to the records. The two that I'd like to cover in this particular video are accounts and contacts.
