- [Instructor] Social engineering. Now, of all the lessons in this course, this is probably the less technical, but however, it's probably one of the most important, so let's get started. Social engineering concepts. Stealing human information is known as social engineering. It doesn't require interaction with target systems or networks. It's considered a non-technical attack. And basically, social engineering is convincing the target to reveal or share information. It's either convincing or tricking sometimes. The process may be executed through physical interaction with the target or by convincing the target to part with information using a social media platform. Now, this technique is a lot easier than other techniques, the reasons why being sometimes people are careless or they're unaware of the importance of the information that they possess.
