Creating subdivisions for toposolid elements
In this video, we're going to consider the roads and sidewalks. Now, a really easy way to do that is to revisit the toposolid object and look at the subdivide feature. So with the subdivide feature, you're able to sketch out the shape that you want for things like roads, parking lots, sidewalks, paths, things like that. And that object will be created on the top surface of the toposolid, and it will follow the contours of that solid element. importantly, if you manipulate the solid later and change its topography, the subdivision will follow along. So to help us get started here, I've already created some line work in this file just to kind of speed things up. So if we select the toposolid element here, go to the temporary hide, isolate, hide the element, you're going to see that down below the file, I've got a series of model lines in green here that we're going to use to represent just some simple roads, sidewalks, and parking lots.
