- [Narrator] The web platform is accessible by design, yet many websites and applications have serious accessibility issues. When something is not accessible on the web it is because something has gone wrong in its development. Yes. What I'm saying is, accessibility problems are designed and built in by us. It's not always a popular opinion and I've had plenty of people disagree with me when I say it, but it's true. If something on the web is not accessible the job isn't done, accessibility is the job. This begs the question, why web accessibility is so complicated and why accessibility issues occur in the first place? So let me be very clear about this. I have yet to see a single example of an accessibility issue introduced on purpose with the intent of reducing accessibility.
