Stereoscopic 3D rendering
- [Narrator] Stereoscopic 3D has become an important part of rendering technology over the past few years and, as such, is now used in many parts of the CG industry. In this video then, we want to walk through the basics of setting up and even previewing stereoscopic 3D rendering whilst using V-Ray in SketchUp. Now, of course, the stereoscopic pipeline as a whole, so from shot composition through to final post-effects, is, by its very nature, a technically challenging process. But, getting a basic stereo effect working in V-Ray, by contrast, is actually very simple. Although we will need to make certain that our scenes are set up to make best use of the stereo effect. In other words, not just the really obvious foreground, midground, and background setup that we have created here. All we need to do to get stereo working in our V-Ray renders is to open up the asset editor and, in the camera rollout, enable the stereo switch.
