- Hey there. My name is Ben Weissman and I'm the founder of Solisyon where I work as a data passionist. In today's course, we will work through the what and the how of databases in fabric, which would also answer the question on why or why not you would consider using Fabric SQL databases as part of your data strategy. And briefly touch on all the functions and experiences that you may or may not have already worked with in Fabric. Those existing features cater to roles like data scientists, report developers and data engineers, for example. All of these roles or personas, mainly run analytics driven workload. This is the gap that Fabric SQL database is bridging. We will start with an overview of what Microsoft Fabric is, in case we haven't worked with it before.
