From the course: Ubuntu Linux: Essential Commands and System Administration

Administering Ubuntu Linux

Linux is a popular operating system for servers and workstations, and Ubuntu Linux is one of the most popular Linux distributions out there. So learning to use and administer Ubuntu is a valuable skill. I'm Scott Simpson, and I hope you'll join me for this course on the basics of running an Ubuntu Linux system. We'll explore the text-based shell, and we'll explore how files and directories work. Because text is such an important part of working with a Linux system, we'll spend some time editing and manipulating text using common command line tools. We'll spend some time with access permissions and user and group management as well. Then we'll take a look at working with storage and at modifying network settings. And then we'll see how to log into our computer from another system on our network. Let's go.
