Scatter plot and clustering
- [Instructor] A scatter plot is a great way to find out if two measures are related to each other. In our course file, we have two data points that I would like to study. They are sales in dollar amount and inventory on hand. The idea here is if we can identify products that don't have a high inventory holding costs, but have high sales, then I see that as a win, because that is a very optimized supply chain. Let's open up the course files and see if we find any good examples of this. Let's connect to the Time Series Data tab and head over to Sheet 1. So what we can do is drag Sales into columns and Inventory On Hand into rows. Now, the first thing you'll notice is, uh oh, we only have one data point here. Well, this is because Tableau automatically aggregates your measures. If we head over to the Analysis tab and select this aggregate measures point, now we can see all of the underlying data points, and it looks…
