Hacking Hardware In A Matter of Minutes: Cybertech Demonstration on June 14th (Portland, OR)

I am a visual and tactile learner. Youtube is a great teacher; practicing a skill concurrently to learning it helps me reinforce the learning.

On Tuesday, June 14th, I get to watch how quickly physical hardware can be hacked. Interesting to see and I will then want to try it.

For any Portland area IT operators and/or security people, you might enjoy this event.

Cybersecurity revisited: at our last security focused event, we profiled the different types of threat actors existing today and how we can work to stop their efforts. We want to take this one step further by showing you the cyber and physical aspects of protecting your critical infrastructure environment.
Hacking Hardware In A Matter of Minutes:
A lot of our infrastructure depends on embedded systems. These are special-purpose devices we install and forget about as long as they reliably do the simple things they're meant to do. However, many of these devices were not designed with physical security in mind. We’ll demonstrate what a skilled attacker can do in a matter of minutes, explain why the skills required to do so are neither rare nor difficult to acquire, and the resulting implications. We’ll provide resources you can leverage if this happens to you.
Physically Protecting Your Important Assets:
We protect our infrastructures with cages, buildings and gates. Who can we depend on to help provide the physical protection inside and outside our walls? Meet local police chiefs, who will help you understand how they operationalize protecting your business. We’ll discuss the various districts the police protect and how they separate the areas among their ranks. We will provide you contacts and resources you can leverage to create a better connection with your local police.
